And We’re Off!

The car is packed and we’re off! Managed to fit everything we should need for our first month. We even managed to stuff our bicycles on top of everything else so we can fit into a tiny Brooklyn parking garage at our first stop visiting a friend. We both agreed the bike rack is totally worth it after that.
On our way to NYC, we stopped by Mt. Cuba center in Delaware about 15 min off I-95. They had a gorgeous native plant garden filled with butterflies.
Right outside the entrance was a hummingbird nest up in a willow oak tree with two baby hummingbirds in it!

Managed to catch a praying mantis eating a butterfly. Poor butterfly. By the time we got there, the praying mantis was chewing through the wings like a caterpillar on a leaf.

We made it to our New York City Airbnb later in the day and immediately shot off to explore. We had a great time visiting our friends over the next two days and managed to walk the length of Central Park, wandered Brooklyn, relaxed at a rooftop bar, strolled The High Line, and swung by an amazing dumpling place in Korea Town. We were exhausted by the time Friday came around.
