We got a lot done and had a great time during our 22 days in Costa Rica! We spent most of it in Playa Guiones without a car and only left our little section of the town once. We were too busy surfing and planning out Japan! Surfing turned out harder than expected, but I improved and will be seeking out other surfing opportunities in the future! Meanwhile, Priscilla ironed out a lot of our travel plans for the rest of the year.
Favorite things about Costa Rica
- Playa Guiones during the rainy season – it was much less crowded than the dry (peak) season and the forests were lush green.
- Surfing! Glad we took a private lesson to finally get beyond whitewater. Trying to surf on green waves without an instructor the first time would be horribly frustrating.
- The turtle arribada in Ostional Reserve was an incredible experience. We hadn’t really planned on it, but so glad we caught it at the right time
- Sunset walks on the 2.5 mile beach
- Priscilla really enjoyed the yoga classes at the beautiful outdoor pavilions in the forest
