June was a biiiiiig month, we did a ton of stuff! And that stuff can be expensive. We drove the entire North Island of New Zealand, we saw Hobbiton, we ended our NZ campervan adventure in Auckland, we flew to Australia, we spent 3 days diving on the Great Barrier Reef while living on a boat, and started another campervan adventure in Australia! Whew!
What did we spend in June to do all of that?
Category | Spending |
---|---|
Lodging | $1,137 |
Food | $1,323 |
Healthcare | $292 |
Misc. items and insurance | $305 |
Activities | $359 |
Flights & Visas to Oz | $643 |
Great Barrier Reef Diving | $1,406 |
Campervan Rental | $538 |
Petrol | $602 |
Total | $6,605 |
So the final tally comes out to a whopping: $220 / day
While the liveaboard cost a lot, it’ll typically cost $50 per dive anywhere(except Thailand). Plus it included transportation, accommodation and food. Totally worth it. Also, flying anywhere in/out of Australia is uber expensive, don’t know why.
