August 2018 Summary

We started August in Australia on the Great Ocean Road and Melbourne, (feels like forever ago)! We flew over to Ecuador for Kate and David’s engagement party, then jumped up to Costa Rica. In coming back to the Americas for this long, we strayed pretty far from our original plan (from a year ago). However, it has given us time to plan out a lot of our travel for the rest of this year through Japan, Denmark and potentially Morocco. We’re having a blast, looking forward to everything yet to come, and really glad we took a breather to relax and ~surf in Costa Rica.

What did we spend in August moving through 3 countries?

CategorySpending
Lodging$1,085
Food$981
Flights$415
Activities$349
Local transportation$241
Healthcare$192
Misc. items and insurance$161
Total$3,424

So the final tally comes out to: $110 / day

Other Random Stuff

ThingAmount of Thing
Steps388,630
Cities3
Different lodgings7
Miles traveled9,500

Interesting that this was by far the fewest steps in a month. We think that it’s due to traveling more than usual via local transportation and our activities being in the water, therefore untracked.
