We spent 28 days meandering across Denmark. We had a car almost the entire time and stayed in adorable little cabins with a priority on wood stoves, so Denmark was extremely comfortable. We spent close to half of our time hunkered down near Ebeltoft, hiking and planning. Denmark was a great time for us to relax, slow down, and enjoy Autumn. But, we still managed to explore Koge, Ribe, the island of Funen, and Zealand!
Favorite things about Denmark
- Mols Bjerge National Park and Ebeltoft
- Castles througout Denmark
- The historic village in Aarhus and learning a ton about vikings in the process
- Colorful half-timbered houses with thatched roofs, literally everywhere we went
- Adorable hamlets scattered throughout the countryside
- Airbnbs, they’re surprisingly cheap and super comfy!
- Hindsholm peninsula, north of Kerteminde. Probably some of our favorite landscapes in all of Denmark
- Copenhagen pedestrian areas
- Christmas markets, aka Julemarked
